Poor Richard's Almanack

Benjamin Franklin
10.0/10 x2 Recommended

A collection of aphorisms and practical wisdom from Benjamin Franklin. This is an incredibly dense book. Franklin has an uncanny ability to compress an entire chapter's worth of insight into a single sentence. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then the pictures inspired by this book would need to be rendered in 16K.

Personally, I could only consume it in 10-minute bursts. I'd pause frequently, write down the sayings that resonated most, and spend time reflecting on them before continuing. It's less a book to read than one to ponder.

Some of the advice is outdated, but much of it is timeless. This isn't a book for the casual reader, but I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking to think more clearly, communicate more concisely, and appreciate how much wisdom can fit into a handful of words.
