The World of Ice and Fire

This is my kind of book. I like all the fantasy, lore and the details bringing the whole world of Westeros and Essos alive. It's written from the perspective of Maester Yandel, a scholar of the Citadel. Which is even cooler, because it carries bias, and is not always a full or accurate account. This is a smart way for George RR Martin to stay agile, and sway or forget some of the things that are written, as it could be considered an error on the part of Maester Yandel.

It covers an ancient history with the Children of the Forest and the First Men, a long period covering the Targaryen dynasty and the main story of A Song of Ice and Fire. Then it covers the geography of the lands and finally explores some of the lesser known, more mystic and magical areas across the Narrow Sea.
