What Do You Care What Other People Think?

This book captures many of the elements found in Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman; however, it covers a more serious set of life events, that are still navigated with all the charm, rigour and curiosity of Richard Feynman.

It primarily covers the passing of his first wife, and the time he served on the committee for finding out why NASA's Space Shuttle Challenger tragically broke apart 73 seconds after its launch on January 28, 1986. While his approach is deadly serious, thorough, and gets to the heart of the issues, we find that ultimately the report was more about public relations and politics, compared to getting to the heart of what went wrong.

A theme found throughout Feynman's life, whereby the task he has set out on, and his curious authentic approach towards understanding and discovery, is overshadowed by the wider net of human structures and social decision making, that mitigate responsibility and being told off, as opposed to making sure issues do not arise again.
